Stay Fit for Halloween (with BONUS Hocus Pocus Workout)
Staying on track to your healthiest is hard around the holidays, especially Halloween! There's plenty of candy, costumes, and fun to go around. But what about maintaining your fitness and healthy journey?
We've developed some healthy hacks to help you enjoy Halloween and exercise. Even if you miss hitting the gym, or get sidetracked by holiday fun, use some of these tactics to celebrate Halloween and exercise at the same time.
1. Hocus Pocus Movie Workout
Every year, Hocus Pocus is the go-to Halloween movie. Halloween just doesn't seem the same without it! Between the singing, Sanderson Sisters, and witty remarks, you'll have fun just watching the 90s classic.
While you're enjoying watching the witches, try these moves to get in a Halloween workout. There's no shortage of hijinx and abs you can do in 96 minutes. Check out the workout below!
2. Trick-or-Treating
Waiting for trick-or-treaters, or supervising trick-or-treating can be a lot of fun! If you're awaiting trick-or-treaters with handfuls of candy, do a squat every time the doorbell rings. You can run in place between doorbell rings as well.
If you're trick-or-treating or supervising trick-or-treaters, offer piggyback rides, carry some candy for them, or maybe even do walking lunges from house to house.
If you have fewer trick-or-treaters coming to your house, bring some fitness games to the party like the one for Hocus Pocus. There are some more active Halloween game ideas here.
3. Outdoor Games Pre-Trick-or-Treating
Want your kids to be all tuckered out after trick-or-treating? Go outside and play tag, or any of its variations, for a good 30 or 40 minutes before heading out. You'll get your exercise in and have plenty of fun to boot.
How will you stay active during Halloween festivities?
